About Terako Japon

“Terako Japon” is a project, born in a quiet and rural town in northern Hiroshima. It was initiated in 2016 by Terumichi Ishibashi, the young successor of a small Buddhist temple called “Saikyoji” which is following the teaching of the Kyoto based Jodo Shinshu Hongwanji-ha.

The idea behind it is to connect people living in rural areas and interested visitors from around the world, to provide a space to exchange, learn and have fun together in an authentic environment.

Our mission is to present real Japanese culture and lifestyle, while allowing people from rural areas to engage in a dialogue with people form other countries they would usually never have a chance to meet.
